Sparkhouse is Officially a Certified Minority Business Enterprise

It's official!

Your favorite video production service is now officially certified as a minority-owned business. We are so excited to share this announcement with you, so we thought we'd tell you a little about what the certification is and what it means for you.

Congratulations!

The Certified Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) is a prestigious certification that distinguishes us from all the other video services out there. We always knew we were the best, but now we have this shiny new certificate to prove it!

Just kidding. We have the certificate to show that our business prides itself on our diverse viewpoints and undeniable talent. We are business professionals, as well as creative minds. And we get it all done with hard work, open minds, and open hearts.

What does it all mean?

Sparkhouse is 100% owned by Torrey Tayenaka who is half Japanese. That equals full-time minority working full-time with amazing clients. And we couldn't be happier. Tayenaka is the leader of the pack and this certification lets his expertise shine.

His certification through the Southern California Minority Supplier Development Council (SCMSD), Sparkhouse now has access to local business development programs and events and a listing in the national minority supplier database, which is accessed by corporations locally and across the country looking for qualified suppliers for contract opportunities. That's exciting stuff.

That means Sparkhouse is unstoppable. With access to programs that help grow, educate, and develop our business, we have an opportunity to thrive alongside all of our competitors and reach the clients that need us most.

With a national listing in the minority supplier database, those agencies looking for a diverse partnership with rich perspectives and an entrepreneurial spirit can now find us. Ah, the power of the internet.

We also have the chance to meet other certified Minority Business Enterprise members and build a community of diverse voices. We can lift each other up by building a referral network and supporting each other's work. We look forward to growing those relationships here in sunny California and all over the country.

So what?

That's cool, but why does this certificate matter?

Great question. It matters and here's why. Minority-owned businesses and diversity in the workplace are everyday issues that affect all of us. Diversity in the workplace is a beautiful necessity to nurture an economically and emotionally healthy business. Without it, companies are only dreaming of the thriving business they could have if they included more voices.

Allowing people with different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives inherently improves the workplace. It encourages understanding and empathy, essential traits of a healthy business. It also boosts creativity. 85% of large global enterprises agree that diversity is crucial to fostering innovation. These are international votes speaking up and saying that minority voices are here to stay.

Diversity in the workplace here at home is on the rise too. People of color own over 22% of US businesses. That number is growing and Sparkhouse is proud to be a part of it. We're here to tell stories through branded video marketing campaigns. We can't do that well unless we listen to every voice and tell everyone's stories.

What's next?

From here, we'll continue making amazing video marketing campaigns for our stellar clients. They deserve it. And we'll deliver those final projects with pride and a new certificate on our wall.

We'll also keep in touch with our friendly new MBE network and try to help other diverse voices get a leg up.
